.....................still waiting!

For those of you just joining me, I am writing about the process of creating a made to order neckpiece for an Australian bride.  The dates at the top of each post show the time period covered.

January 24, 2011

In my last entry, I told you I would wait 6-10 days and let you know when/if the neckpiece arrived in Australia.  Well, it has been 10 days and still no word.

On January 22, I left for an annual cross country ski trip in Algonquin Park in Canada.  It was killing me to leave without knowing whether or not the piece had arrived.  So I bought an international data plan to stay in touch.  Every time my email notification went off, my friends would say- "Check your email, Betty.  It could be Priscylla!"  But I still had not heard from her when I arrived home on the 25th.

On a good note, the trip was great fun!  Every year, we get together with a group of our friends for a weekend of skiing and eating.  The weather is almost always cold and snowy, this year we had temperatures as low as minus 30 Fahrenheit.  I just thought I would include this pic of myself and 2 friends after a day subzero skiing.
We are a bit frosty!

After I returned home, I couldn't wait any longer and emailed Priscylla to see if she had heard anything.  She had not.  I began looking for the paperwork for the postal insurance- just in case...and worrying!  Nothing to do but wait.  Some more.

I will post again when there is any news.  The wedding was Feb. 12- so there was still time.  But really- I was worried!

Meanwhile, I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of some of the pieces I made with the "leftover" components and beads from the neckpiece.  If you have been following the blog, I'm sure you will recognize a lot of these pieces!!

So till next time...!

  5. Thanks for your nice comments. It is always a good feeling to use your leftovers- isn't it! You will soon find out if everything was OK with the bridal piece- I don't want to ruin the suspense. (yes, I know, I have been told more than once that I am mean!!)
